My Favorite place in California

100_0783

This is my favorite spot in the whole world. If I could take it home with me I would. I grew up playing on this rock. It is not so big but as kids we loved to climb on it and run up and down it. The view from here is the best. It looks down on Phoenix lake and the area around my grandfathers house. I would not trade this spot for anything!

This was taken the about a year ago. It was the last time I saw my grandmother. At this time last year she had a massive stroke and ended up in the hospital.

As far as I know this is the last picture taken before her stroke. Her stroke happened on my brothers 39th birthday.

Thursday morning

So last night I finally got to check out the blog from my friend Katie. She had not posted since her birthday months ago… The blog is life is good. She tickles me with what they have done and how much she enjoys her family. So I decided to post again. Still working on getting the video up and running but I am working on it.

Today I did have some fun with Robbie. We were in the front around ohhhh I’d say 10 and Robert had just put down the hose. So I picked it up a squirted Robbie with it. After I put it down he picked it up and learning from his mom he squirted me! we proceeded to have our first water fight. What fun we had. Then it was time to strip him down and come in. Well my little streakier went running off to the front of the house. running right in front of the poor missionarys that stoped by. OHHHHHH MYYYYY! Well to say the least he is 2 and what do you expect from a 2 year old?!

So we went to the county fair. On opening day none the less. Which

was a good day to go because the temp was on the cool side. I can say that I did get sun burnt but not bad! Robbie had so much fun our first stop was the track. Had to see the ponies run. 100_1104

So after a while we went to see the animals. Robbie had a ball looking at all the animals from his books and seeing the things he see in them in real life. Like the tractors! He was rooting them on when they cleaned up the track. We wanted to know who was gonna win!100_1107

Pigs say OINK! Can I touch one???100_1109

So then it was off to see the puppets! What a fun and exciting show. We got to laugh, and dance and even got wet. Robbie had his first fair corn dog and made a good mess of it to!   100_1118

Provident Living

100_0915_00

So we have been doing our part in getting to be self sufficient. This  is our provident living in action. We not only did the front landscape but we made it a edible landscape as well. There are squash, peppers, eggplants and artichokes in this picture

100_0914_00

I planted sweet peas to grow up the fence, they still haven’t made it to the wires yet but they will one day!

Strawberries, tomatoes, there are squash starts in there too.

The front yard as it looked not to long ago. It is much better now.The seedlings have taken off and you would not believe what we have started to pick. Our neighbors love it too! the first beans went next door. The sugar snaps have been eaten off the plant by Robbie. He loves them. I can’t wait to see what is ready in the morning. It makes getting up in the morning more fun to see what we will have fresh each day!

Worm boy!

100_0906_00

Robbie took to the yard work and he loved the worms. He is our little worm boy! He has a whole little container full of worms for fishing. Daddy took them to fish one night and caught a small catfish. of course this fish did come home. Had to have one he could see and touch.( YUCK)

100_0905_00

Hey can I touch it?

100_0909_00

So he took the worm to the drive way. not only did he proceed to throw it down he tortured the poor thing too! He loved playing with it though.
